As much as we love K dramas, there are some scenarios or plots where you'll find overused. Those which you'll love and hate; there are those times when you're really hooked to the plot, then there's a scenario you can't help rolling your eyes with or get frustrated.

And there are those times, where you already knew that it was coming, but you still enjoys it.

So without further due, HERE ARE 19 KDRAMA CLICHES that you'll encounter 99% in kdramas.
THE TRUCK OF DISASTER
-There's always these one moment when this white truck(it's always white) just comes out of nowhere to target the main character when all things are finally going well for him/her.

ACCIDENTAL KISSES
-The cheesy scenes.

-Wrist Grabbing in kdramas are either hate to love gestures of main leads or for a badass rescue of someone who's about to get slapped.

-For me personally, these scenes are the funniest and vexing part of a kdrama. One moment you've been admiring the main male/female lead, then you'll face-palmed yourself when seeing how stuck they are when they're about to die. -_-

- THE RICH AND EVIL MOTHER IN LAW
-There's often a scene (especially in a 'rich guy loves poor girl' story plot) where the mother will offer money to her poor daughter in law for them(her son and the poor girl) to separate. Then, of course, the main girl will refuse because of love. The wicked mother will feel offended so there's always a glass of water at the table for the mother to splash it on her.

-Back hugs in kdramas are gestures for either affection or an apology(implying for him/her to don't leave).

- CHILDHOOD TRAUMAS/CONNECTIONS
-For perfectly awesome main characters, childhood traumas is the best combination for their only flaw in a drama.
|
Credits: Secret Garden(drama) |
-This often applies to the male leads. They always want to complicate things before admitting it to themselves that he's already in love with a girl.

- GIRL TO BOY TRANSFORMATIONS
-So in dramas, I guess having a short boyish hair makes you automatically a guy. No one can tell that you're a girl. -_-

- Makeover transformations are great. Although sometimes, the main characters don't need one. Just because you have freckles, it doesn't necessarily mean you're ugly.

- DRUNK SCENES/ PIGGY BACK RIDES
|

-These two always come together. In Dramaworld, drunk girls always get messed up in order for the sober male lead to be obligated to give her a piggy back ride home.

-Nice guys don't always have the chance to get the girl. Total friend-zoned in dramas.

If you ever encountered a perfect matched couple as a starting point in a korean drama, you must brace yourself and know that they won't end up together in the end (e.g. one of them is about to die or he/she might be cheating). If you encountered an incompatible and complicated matched couple with struggles in maintaining their relationship, on the other hand, they'll live happily ever after.

U-TURNS |
-Moments where the character changes his/her mind so he/she goes back immediately to where he came from. During these scenes, I always thought perhaps, random U-Turns are legal in Korea. >_<

-In Kdramas, stalking is considered cute which is ironic for the matter.

-Bromance in kdramas doesn't necessarily meant being homosexual. Most bromance scenes normally show cute yet natural bondings of a close guy to guy friendship. I love these kinds of scenes.

-Basically, you are never working/studying hard enough until you get a nosebleed.
-The main character always love to complicate things and make it hard for them. For instance, they won't confess or apologize until knowing that their friend or loved one is already in the airport or the bus to leave them! They always love chasing buses and catching up in airports to stop him/her from fleeing.

So that's it, folks! There's a lot more but I'll save it for next time. :) So what do you think? It's up to you whether these cliches are getting pretty vexing or still enjoyable otherwise!
See you on the next blog!
